All About You Placement & Seniors Helping Seniors - "The Longest Day" Fundraiser Event

January 10, 2026 | Florence, AZ

Dr. Hemant K. Pandey and Simon Parkinson Present at “The Longest Day” Fundraiser Event in Florence, Arizona

Dr. Hemant K. Pandey, M.D. and Simon Parkinson, MSN, ARNP, FNP-C, CNRN, presented at the All About You Placement and Seniors Helping Seniors “The Longest Day” Fundraiser Event on January 10, 2026, in Florence, Arizona.

Dr. Pandey presented virtually on “Understanding the Neurological and Structural Changes Dementia Causes in the Brain.” His presentation provided an overview of how dementia affects the brain at both a neurological and structural level, helping attendees better understand the biological changes that contribute to cognitive, emotional, and behavioral symptoms.

Simon Parkinson, who served as a main speaker for the event, presented “Translating Brain Changes into Real-World Symptoms, Behaviors, and Care Implications.” His presentation helped attendees understand how changes in the brain can affect everyday behavior, communication, mood, personality, and decision-making. He discussed how neurological changes may appear in real life, including subtle shifts in mood or personality, changes in language or word choice, decreased impulse control, increased risk-taking behaviors such as gambling, and difficulty navigating familiar surroundings.

Simon also addressed emotional and behavioral changes that can be especially challenging for families and caregivers, including increased sadness, anger, crying, laughing at inappropriate times, or becoming verbally harsh or defensive. He explained that, unlike some individuals with Alzheimer’s disease, a person living with certain forms of dementia may be more aware that something is wrong. This awareness can lead to frustration, defensiveness, anger, or distress as they try to make sense of their symptoms and changing abilities.

Together, Dr. Pandey and Simon offered valuable insight into the connection between brain changes and real-world symptoms. Their presentations emphasized the importance of compassion, patience, education, and practical support when helping patients and families navigate dementia-related changes. By understanding what may be happening in the brain, caregivers can respond with greater empathy, reduce conflict, and create safer, more supportive care environments.

TrialSphere Clinical Research was proud to serve as both an event sponsor and exhibitor. Penny Kalscheur, Clinical Research Marketing Director, introduced Simon to attendees and represented TrialSphere at the vendor booth, where she connected with attendees and community partners. Throughout the event, she shared information about current clinical research opportunities and TrialSphere’s continued commitment to advancing patient-centered care.

Events like “The Longest Day” help raise awareness and support for individuals and families affected by dementia and other cognitive disorders. We are proud to recognize Dr. Pandey, Simon, and Penny for their contributions to this meaningful community event and their continued commitment to education, advocacy, research, and compassionate neurological care.
